“The Court of Auditors can be intimidating because, while it does not impose imprisonment on executives under investigation, it can order them to pay damages. However, I do not let that stop me from making decisions. It would be like a soccer coach saying, ‘I’m not going to choose the starting lineup because I am afraid of making a mistake’. Change your job, then!”

What we discuss with Michele Melchionda

The Department for Digital Transformation is a startup within the Public Administration. It works in support of the President of the Council of Ministers to implement the so-called “digital agenda”, i.e., all the activities planned in the Three-Year Plan for Information Technology in Public Administration to provide citizens and businesses with digital services that are increasingly efficient, straightforward, and designed based on their needs.

Michele Melchionda and I discuss the correlation between innovation and accountability and the trade-off approach to acting “borderline”. Finally, we discuss functionality and the IO App’s potential and how it can revolutionize the use of public services.

As always, our guest gives three actionable insights to our listeners on preparing for future technological opportunities.
